We are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join our education supply register as a Trainee Cover Supervisor and work within secondary schools in Chelmsford.

Role Overview: As a Sports Coach acting as a Cover Supervisor, you will provide vital support in secondary schools, delivering physical education sessions and supervising classes in the absence of regular teachers. This role offers flexibility, professional development, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ educational experiences. No prior experience working within a school is required, as we offer a Trainee Cover Supervisor Course to prepare you for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver high-quality sports coaching sessions to students of various ages and abilities.
• Supervise and manage secondary school classes during teachers’ absences.
• Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow lesson plans and ensure students stay on task.
• Maintain classroom discipline and manage student behavior.
• Support students’ learning and development across a range of subjects.
• Collaborate with school staff to support the broader educational framework.
• Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

The desired Cover Supervisor will have:

• A degree or equivalent education.
• A willingness to learn.
• A natural leader and someone with the confidence to lead a lesson in the absence of the class teacher.
• A passion for education and providing the highest possible level of support to young people.
• Participate and complete CPD in-branch and online training courses.
