Are you looking for a rewarding Teaching position with vulnerable pupils?
We are looking to recruit a full-time Cover Supervisor, Higher-level Teaching Assistant or Teacher for a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Tooting to start from Monday 8th March 2021.
You will be leading 1:1 and small group lessons and providing care for secondary aged pupils with social emotional mental health (SEMH) needs.
Rates: £95-125 per day dependant on teaching experience and/or training
Interview date: From Monday 1st March 2021 on school site (will include an observation)
Duration: 8th March 2021 – July 2021 minimally
Basic Job Responsibilities:
You will work as a Cover Supervisor delivering lessons across the curriculum and supporting the needs of the school on a day to day basis.
The role requires teaching pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis delivering lessons for a variety of attainment levels
You will be required to monitor development and the welfare of pupils while adhering to all safeguarding procedures promoted by the school.
You will be:
Able to build and maintain strong relationships with pupils and staff alike
Experienced supporting children or young adults with social emotional mental health (SEMH) needs or at risk of exclusion
Qualified with QTS, PGCE, BEd, Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or a relevant teaching qualification
Available full-time, Mondays to Fridays during school term time
Be able to demonstrate the relevant experience in teaching
Be forward thinking with a proactive approach
Be happy and able to work as part of a supportive and experienced team
Lessons will be pre-planned, however, experience teaching or leading lessons for secondary aged pupils, particularly those with social emotional mental health needs (SEMH) and/or challenging behaviours is essential.
Additional training in Behaviour Management, Team Teach and/or Positive Handling is highly beneficial but is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
