We are seeking a well-qualified, talented and ambitious Chemistry graduate for September 2024 to teach Chemistry throughout the School.
This is an opportunity that might suit a talented chemistry graduate new to the teaching profession or an experienced teacher seeking a new challenge. Charterhouse runs an in-house programme training new staff and would consider appointing a candidate without a teaching qualification seeking to enter the profession.
The Science Department at Charterhouse is the largest in the School with 24 teaching staff. It enjoys generous support from a secretary and 9 technicians. The Science department is actively involved in training science teachers in other schools.
In recent years, Charterhouse has enhanced the delivery of Science with an ambitious building project. The first phase, a new Chemistry building, was completed in August 2018 and pupils both within and outside the School are now benefitting from the modern, cutting-edge facilities that this spectacular award-winning building offers. A complete modernisation of Biology and Physics laboratories followed in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
