Description
We currently have multiple opportunities for Teaching Assistants within Foundation Studies. You could work across English, Maths or both. This role is also available as an apprenticeship, where you could achieve your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification alongside your role. As a teaching assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the teaching staff in creating effective and stimulating learning opportunities for all students. You will work closely with students to support them in achieving their academic and personal goals.
You will help to supervise and motivate students, working closely with individuals or small groups to provide additional support. You may also be required to assist with classroom management, including maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment.

Essential criteria:
1. Excellent computer literacy – ability to use the current IT programs of the College
2. Knowledge and understanding of GCSE Qualifications.
3. Engaged and passionate about Continuing Professional Development.
4. Minimum of Level 2 Maths and English Qualification.
5. High level of communication and interpersonal skills, an effective member of a team.
6. Ability to set high standards for students, colleagues and for themselves.
7. Strong understanding of the importance and impact of feedback on learner performance.
8. Experience using ICT to support and enhance subject delivery.
Desirable criteria:
1. A recognised Teaching qualification2. Experience and understanding of ALPS and value added as progress measures3. Good understanding of curriculum development to meet the training needs of employers4. Experience with BTEC verification and standardisation 5. Fluent speaking in any of the mentioned languages: Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Kurdish Sorani, Tigrinya, Spanish, French or Portuguese
