Teaching Assistant

We have a fantastic SEND school located in the Haringey borough looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them for the start of the new academic year! This role will require you to support children with special needs and as a Teaching Assistant, you wil be supporting the classroom teacher in providing excellent tailored support to all students.

Key Duties:

• You must be comfortable working 1:1 within an SEND role or with children in small groups
• Demonstrate active listening skills and strong verbal communication skills
• Look after children’s physical, social and emotional wellbeing
• Handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding
• Work alongside other Teaching Assistants to create an environment for pupils to thrive within

Requirements:

• You will have previous experience working with SEND children ideally, though not essential if you are comfortable giving it a go and have a positive mind-set
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• As a Teaching Assistant you will need to be dedicated to establishing positive relationships with pupils and understanding their needs
• You will need to be available for a September start
• Either live in Haringey or within a commutable distance
