Teaching Personnel
Teaching Personnel are working with several primary schools across the St Austell area who currently have a variety of Teaching Assistant vacancies.
Positions available include –
EYFS Teaching Assistant
General Classroom Teaching Assistant across KS1 and KS2
SEN Teaching Assistant
1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Full time and part time hours available.
What is the role of a Teaching Assistant?
Setting up equipment and helping to prepare the classroom for lessons, tidying up afterwards and helping with displays.
Providing support to children who need additional help with their work.
Helping pupils develop independent learning skills, manage their own learning and prioritise their time.
Providing one-to-one and small group support to children who need it.
Listening to children read.
Helping the teacher with their marking and record-keeping.
Looking after children’s pastoral needs, including dealing with playground accidents and caring for children who are upset.
Helping with school trips, events and outings.
What is the role of an SEN Teaching Assistant?
Special needs teaching assistants work in schools, helping children with a wide range of severe learning, physical or behavioural difficulties. Encouraging children to communicate with one another and with staff. Providing feedback and assistance to teachers. Supporting children in social activities and on outings.
About you:
sensitivity and understanding
patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
to enjoy working with other people
to be flexible and open to change
excellent verbal communication skills
knowledge of teaching and the ability to design courses
the ability to understand people’s reactions
active listening skills
to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
at least 12 months experience working within the education sector
knowledge and confidence of Read Write Inc preferred
If you wish to apply for the EYFS Teaching Assistant roles, we will require previous EYFS experience and ideally an education related qualification. SEN Teaching Assistant applications should ideally have had experience with inidviduals who have additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
