Teaching Assistant – Secondary School Gateshead, Tyne and Wear

An opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide classroom support at a popular Secondary School in Gateshead.

As a Teaching Assistant you will work alongside teachers to support students in their learning across a range of subjects. Duties will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support in classrooms
• Assisting with lesson preparation and setting up classroom activities
• Helping create a positive and encouraging learning environment
• Monitoring student progress and providing feedback
• Supporting students with special educational needs
• Implementing behavior management strategies

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working with young people in an educational setting
• Have excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate students
• Be organized, patient, and committed to ensuring students succeed
• Have GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at grade C or above
