Have you recently completed a degree and looking to gain some experience working within education?
Or are you an experienced Teaching Assistant currently available for short assignments or ongoing work within a secondary school?
At Tradewind Recruitment we work alongside numerous supportive and inclusive secondary schools throughout Essex who will require Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistant to cover short and long term positions from September.
Schools are always keen to hear about enthusiastic recent graduates or from personable and resilient individuals looking for work. If you have graduated in or have sound knowledge of English, Maths, Science or MFL this could be particularly advantageous but not essential. Emphasis is also placed on your character, attributes, and behaviours as its key to build the correct relationships with pupils in a secondary school environment.
The successful Teaching Assistants/Learning Support Assistants may be expected to support the entire class, small groups or one a one-to-one basis. This could also be subject specific (typically in English, Maths, Science or MFL) or across a range of subjects. You may also be asked to work with students with SEN (Special Educational Needs). You will be given clear instructions from the Teacher or SENDCO and will be expected to report and feedback how your students have progressed.
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant you will:
* Have some experience working as a TA/LSA or with young people outside of education.
* Come to work with the correct energy, commitment, and resilience.
* Be a caring, patient, and compassionate person who will put students’ needs first.
* Can quickly build rapport and engage with colleagues, children, and parents.
* Have a can-do attitude and confidence to set clear boundaries and expectations.
At Tradewind Recruitment we support schools with short term cover bookings through to long term and permanent posts. The more flexible you are, the more schools and opportunities we can present you with which can lead to finding your ideal role.
