We are recruiting for a Teaching assistant to work at a school in the Helston area. The role be supporting the class teacher with a class of KS2 students. This will be Monday – Friday, 8.30 am – 3.30pm, during term time. At least 1 years’ experience is desired. This role is to start as soon as possible.
You will be working alongside the teacher to support the class and to also work on a 1-1 basis with students who are struggling to catch up after being off due to coronavirus. You will need to be enthusiastic and creative with the ability to make learning fun for the students, learning takes place inside and outside of the classroom. When working 1-1 with a student all the resources you need will be provided. The school are particularly looking for somebody whose creative and good at arts and crafts. You will also be responsible for creating class display boards, these are used within the classrooms to help aid students learning and they can also be used for interactive learning activities. The children have reading time every day so your job will involve listening to them read and helping them with anything they may be struggling with and creating activities based on what they’ve read in their book to ensure they’ve understood what they’ve read. You will be responsible for ensuring the students are staying on task and are motivated to do their work to the highest standard they can. You will need to be a good role model to promote positive pupil behaviour in line with the school’s social policies this will help to prevent bullying. Good interpersonal skills are important as you will need to be liaising with the teacher, SENCO, parents on the student’s progression.
The ideal candidate will be aware of Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning and Equal Opportunities policies. You will also need a Child Workforce DBS which can be completed during the recruitment process.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
