A Newcastle school is currently recruiting for a teaching assistant to work with pupils from KS3-KS4 with a range of special educational needs. The position are to begin approx. March 2021 (dependent on school return) until the end of the academic year. There is a possibility that the positions may be made permanent for the right candidates.
The successful candidate will have experience of dealing with challenging behaviour. They will work alongside teaching staff to provide both academic and pastoral support for nurture groups in both KS3 and KS4.
The school will consider candidates from various backgrounds, including policing, youth-work and graduates. Existing school-based experience is not essential for this role. Appointments will be based on the ability of the candidates to provide firm and nurturing support.
The school is located in west Newcastle making it easily accessible from public transport and the A1.
