Aspire People is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join one of our schools in Kings Heath, dedicated to supporting students in a specialized SEMH educational setting.As a Teaching Assistant specializing in SEMH, you will work closely with educators and school staff to support the academic and emotional development of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment, helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.Key Responsibilities: Assist in implementing individualized education and behaviour plans for students with SEMH challenges. Support the teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities to meet students’ specific needs. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging emotional well-being and social development. Provide one-on-one and small group support, reinforcing learning objectives and addressing behavioural concerns. Collaborate with colleagues and outside professionals to develop and implement effective strategies for students with SEMH. Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and interventions.Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH challenges is highly desirable. Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. A genuine passion for helping students overcome obstacles and achieve academic and personal success.Why Aspire People?
