Salary: £10 per hour following completion of our fully funded national qualifications with the potential to rise to £15 per hour if you complete further training and qualifications

We have an exciting opportunity for passionate and enthusiastic individuals to train as Swimming Teachers and join our friendly teams in providing safe and fun lessons in our first-class facilities.
Teaching Swimming will provide you with fulfilling and enjoyable work by teaching people of all ages and abilities a life saving skill.
This role could see you working with individuals, therapeutic groups, schools, or in our range of public classes. Either way though you’ll carry out the lesson plans, ensure the safe use and storage of equipment, complete pupil records, and carry out assessment sessions.
Ultimately, you’ll ensure your pupils continue to progress, providing them with confidence in the water – and you with an enormous sense of achievement and pride.
This is your chance to train potential athletes, ensure children remain safe and aware of the risks around water and build confidence in all service users.

What you’ll need to do this role
First and foremost you must be available for all of the training dates and times Monday to Friday 25th – 29th July 10am-6:30pm.
You’ll need to have excellent customer service skills as you’ll be interacting heavily with our customers. So, whether you’ve earned that experience in a leisure or another customer facing environment, you’ll be a people person who is happy dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds.
As a teacher you’ll naturally be able to motivate and manage your students, have excellent planning skills, and be a good communicator.
The qualifications we will provide you with usually cost over £300, but all we ask of you is cover the cost of your STA membership which is just £49 and you come with a positive can do attitude.
Lastly, to become a successful swimming teacher it will be essential for you to complete either a National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification or a National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches. To complete either of these qualifications you will need to be a competent swimmer who can; tread water, submerge to the bottom of a pool and swim 100 metres without stopping.
We offer a variety of working hours to suit most candidates. If you are looking for 1 or 2 mornings or evenings per week, more of a full-time role, or even just an hour on a Saturday or Sunday morning, we can and will accommodate you.
