UK schools spend well over £2bn per year on covering short-term absences with supply teachers. The current model is exclusively reliant on agencies that charge a massive commission and are inefficient. We are consolidating this fragmented marketplace onto a digital platform. Think Uber for supply teachers. In the process, we’ll pull hundreds of millions of waste out of the education system and have a huge positive impact on teachers and schools.

You’ll be joining Zen in a key leadership position, with an opportunity to launch a new team. Zen is looking to expand into providing tuition support to Local Authorities across the UK. Tuition is provided to children in care, meaning you will be making an impact on children who really need high-quality teaching & support. Responsibilities

1. Responsible for launching the Tuition team and defining our GTM strategy.
2. Responsible for the commercial success of Tuition within London inclusive of; building pipeline of Local Authorities, securing PSLs with LAs, delivery of tuition service and recruitment of tutors to support LA demand.
3. Working closely with product team to define, build and scale our product to help build a world-leading platform that disrupts an industry that is currently built on very manual processes.
4. Own commercial output, set targets and execute strategies, build relationships with school leaders and upskill wider teams.
5. Collaborate with team leaders across the business, design and execute effective campaigns.
6. Provide line management to Account Managers.

Success KPIs

1. YoY revenue growth of Tuition in London.
2. YoY growth of LA contracts in London.
3. Growth of Tuition in new markets.
4. Internal and external awareness and understanding of Tuition.
5. Effective marketing and new business campaigns with how we attract Tutors, schools & SEN staff.
6. Resourcing efficiency and prioritisation; candidates vetted and placed.
7. Platform adoption % of Zen Educate features.

Requirements

1. Prior management experience of at least one year, with direct line management of more than two people.
2. Have a good understanding of the pain points of providing tuition for children in care and demonstrate a passion and desire to work for a company that is solving these challenges.
3. Have either commercial leadership or school leadership experience, preferably both, with demonstrated success in either field.
4. A history of rapid career growth and be excited about further growth opportunities.
5. A solution-oriented mindset, be a team player and have an understanding of the importance of collaboration.
