Upper Key stage 2 (Year 5) SEN Teaching Assistant required for a school near Rugby
Your new school
A school based on the outskirts of Rugby, in a village called Southam are searching for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 5 on a 1:1 basis.
Due to rural location of the school you will need to have access to a car.
This is a full time role (or 4 days if preferred), 08.30 – 15.30 with 30 mins for lunch. Starting 22nd February until the end of the academic year.
Your new role
The child has SEMH needs and is behind educationally. This role would suit somebody with 1:1 experience because you are expected to work with him 1:1 in a room at times in the day, respond to his needs and be flexible. There are occasions of swearing and some rude language towards adults. However, he is not physically aggressively.
Having experience of supporting a pupil with SEMH would be advantageous but if you have previously worked with children with SEN on a 1:1 basis then of course you will have transferable skills, you will need to be flexible, understanding an patient.
Work will be provided by the teacher, you may have to differentiate the work and also take instruction from the teacher and to keep a record of improvements.
