Axcis are urgently seeking staff for an SEND school in the Preston area.
The school we are working with caters for KS1 – 4 students with additional needs, who can no longer remain in mainstream education. The school are looking for up to 3 teaching assistants to join their growing team and you will be working in class sizes of no more than 8 pupils per class. The school is based on the outskirts of North Preston and school hours are 845am – 330pm Monday – Friday with half an hour for your lunch. The school is welcoming, inviting and pupils are lovely. Pupils in this school have additional needs including autism, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, visual impairments and hearing impairments. Behaviour in this school can be challenging on occasion and personal care may be required.
The role will start as soon as possible and will be on a long term basis. Candidates applying for this role must have childcare experience and will ideally, have some SEND experience too. The role will be full time and candidates applying should be passionate, compassionate, empathetic and resilient. You may be asked to do one volunteer day in school prior to this role starting to ascertain your suitability for the role. Pay will be negotiable dependent on experience, starting at £12 per hour.
