BSL Teaching Assistant – Temporary Contract until July 2024

Are you a skilled and passionate British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant looking for an exciting opportunity? We have a temporary role available until July 2024, working one-to-one with a Year 4 pupil at a vibrant primary school located on the Enfield/Haringey borders.

Key Details:

Position: BSL Teaching Assistant

Contract: Temporary, until July 2024

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm

Location: Enfield/Haringey borders, with excellent travel links and parking facilities

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one support to a Year 4 pupil using British Sign Language

Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in class activities

Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement effective support strategies

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil

Requirements:

Proficient in British Sign Language (BSL)

Experience working with primary school children, preferably in a one-to-one setting

Understanding of strategies to support a child’s learning and development

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a team
