We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Psychologist to lead and deliver a high-quality, evidence-based psychological service for both male and female patients across our Acute and PICU settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking complex assessments, risk assessments, developing comprehensive formulations, and delivering specialist individual and group treatments relevant to the service. Additionally, they will be required to provide clinical supervision for qualified and assistant psychologists, facilitate reflective practice, and develop and deliver training packages for staff of other disciplines, as needed. Exceptional organisational skills and strong interpersonal abilities are essential, as the role involves effective communication, both orally and in written form. The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team is also a crucial aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct complex assessments and risk assessments.

Deliver specialist individual and group treatments.

Provide clinical supervision for qualified and assistant psychologists.

Develop and deliver training packages for staff from various disciplines.

Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Contribute to clinically relevant research.

Qualifications and Experience:

Eligibility for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Experience of working within ACUTE/PICU settings is highly desirable.

Experience of working within either Adult or CAMHs accepted.

Leadership experience and evidenced.

Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.

Additional Information:

An interest in conducting clinically relevant research would be helpful.

All applicants must be eligible for registration with the HCPC.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
