Do you have a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to achieve their full potential?

Here at Remedy Education we are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school within Southeast London. As an SEN TA you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant include:

• Providing 1-1 and small group support students who have SEN adapting methods of teaching accommodating to the diverse learning needs of students
• Working alongside and collaborating with teachers creating a very warm and welcoming environment ensuring every single student feels valued, safe and supported.
• Provide assistance in the preparation and modification of learning teaching materials meeting individual requirements of SEN students
• Being able to establish open communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the care and education of students with SEN to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach.
• Implementing strategies to manage and support positive behaviour fostering a safe and nurturing atmosphere for all students.
• Maintaining accurate records of student progress, interventions, and any notable developments, contributing to the overall assessment process.

Qualifications and requirements of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience working alongside students with SEN
• Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred.
• Demonstrate empathy and a clear knowledge and understanding of the diverse needs of SEN students, coupled with a patient and positive approach.
• Ability to work as part of a supportive and friendly team of staff and other professionals implementing Individual Education Plans in an effective manner.
• Flexibility to adapt strategies purposely to support strategies based on the particular need/s of the SEN student.
