Rossendale School is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our Education team! We are looking for versatile, resilient and committed Teaching Assistants, who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages. The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher, assisting the children with their work and supporting with pupil behaviour while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.

Rossendale is a school catering for the needs of pupils who display social, emotional and mental health difficulties and whose learning disability may be affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder. All pupils have a draft or final Education, Health and Care Plan
The School provides education for young people aged from 7 – 18 years of age. Keystages 2, 3 and 4 are based on the main school site, whilst Keystage 5 have a specislist sixth form building based in the local community. At Keystage 4 and 5 we offer a wide range of GCSE subjects, BTEC Awards, Functional Skills, ASDAN and Entry Level qualifications. We are currently wanting to expand A level courses at the sixth form provision. Given the disrupted nature of our pupils’ education, prior to their admission to Rossendale, we have had some outstanding examination results. The school admits boys and girls on both daily and residential placements.

No previous experience is required for our Teaching Assistant roles as we have full training packages available. We do ask that you have the following characteristics to truly thrive in the role:
